There are countless adults who will say the most memorable part of their childhood was the family’s camping trips. Whether the sleep out took place in the backyard or involved a more in depth planning and execution process, camping is near and dear to a lot of peoples’ hearts.

It makes sense that as those children grew up and had families of their own that they would want to continue the tradition and take their children of exciting camping trips as well. Of course to make this dream a reality, the most important piece of equipment is one of the family camping tents. These tents have evolved over the years into virtual paradises of home like comfort.

Family camping tents are available in a huge selection of styles, sizes, and colors. Almost any version can be found to accommodate the family’s size and needs. With the advancement of technology, family tents are better made than ever and are constructed of the most durable and weatherproof materials.

While it may not be the optimal experience to camp in inclement weather, these tents help to ensure that it doesn’t have to be the worst thing ever either. There are certain criteria to keep in mind while deciding on the perfect tent for your family.

Before style even becomes a consideration, it is important to find one of the best made family tents on the market. When you find a tent that may be the one, check online message boards for honest reactions to the products performance. There are several websites designed to provide consumer opinions.

Visit the local sporting goods store to take a look at the tent up close and personal. Pay careful attention to the zippers, fastenings, and how easy or difficult the tent is to put up. This is the time to look into the type of material used in its construction and quality of the poles and attachments.

Good family camping tents should be made to last a long time and hold up to the rigors of the great outdoors.

Once you have found several tents you like, narrow down your selection according to personal preferences. Some tents are large one room design, while others are equipped with a tunnel between two “rooms” that children find a lot of fun.

Also consider the size and space available in the vehicle that will be used for camping trips. Many models are made to be compact and space saving for smaller cars and vans.

Family camping trips are a worthwhile endeavor. Be sure to be properly prepared with one of the high quality family camping tents available.

Vacation is one of the most exciting times in a student’s life. While others relax at home or travel in different parts of the world, many students decide to enroll in summer camp.

As its name implies, summer camp is a special place for children and teenagers. During summer months, supervised programs for youth development are conducted in these camps. Summer camps give the youth the chance to develop good skills, sports and other subject matters in an inviting and safe environment.

Summer camps can result in favorable effect on the life of the youth. In fact, a study done by the American Camp Association stated that young people who attend summer camp have improved on their self esteem, independence, leadership, friendship skills, social comfort, peer relations, sense of adventure, environmental awareness, values, decisions and spirituality.

A summer camp is located in a serene, quiet place away from the hassle and the din of the city. Typically, it is established in the woodlands with areas carefully manicured and maintained for hiking, trekking and exploring. Camps that are near brooks or rivers also offer canoeing and rafting.

There are also camps that provide a wide variety of specialized activities. For instance, some camps specialize in teaching performing arts, computers and magic. Other summer camps are designed for children with special needs or for those who want to lose weight. Also, there are religiously affiliated summer camps that offer spiritual enlightenment. These are operated by organizations such as Evangelical Christian groups.

Many summer camps feature log cabins or huts. Some may even have idyllic boathouses or decorative totem poles. But appearances are deceiving. Most summer camps are actually advanced and can handle all kinds of situations. Many are computerized and can monitor all enrollees with ease. They have all manner of communication. Most camps have cleared areas that can accommodate helicopters in case of an emergency.

Most summer camps have counselors or adult supervisors. They take care, watch over and guide the young people during sessions. More importantly, they ensure that the campers are safe and sound in their camps. During their stint, counselors are designated to a unit consisting of a group of campers. Typically, counselors range from late teens to early 20’s. Camp counseling is a good task for high schoolers or students in college during summer breaks.

The length of stay often varies from camp to camp. Some summer camps allow campers to spend each night back to their homes. Others allow overnight stay. Campers usually stay a week or two with fellow campers, enjoying and participating in camp activities.

For a young one, a couple of days or weeks stay in summer camp is an experience she or he can never forget.

Camping outdoors is one of the best recreational activities available. The best seasons to camp fall on spring or summer. However, many people also love camping in winter. There is nothing more relaxing than getting out of a tent, seeing gentle, soft snow falling on tall pine trees.

Since winter is an unusually cold season, certain precautions and preparation must be taken of one is planning to camp in winter.

When planning to camp in winter, remember that daylight hours are shorter and fewer in winter. Therefore, you should lessen your mileage goal by 50% to 60%.

One of the most important considerations when camping in winter is clothing. To keep yourself warm, you should dress in layers. The layers should at least include a liner such as thermal underwear, an insulation layer such as a fleece or woolen sweater and a waterproof, windproof outer shell such as a winter parka or jacket. It is important to note that during winter, you should not wear cotton shirt. That’s because cotton looses its insulating properties when it gets wet.

To protect your feet from frostbite, you should wear warm boots made out of oiled leather and plastic. Heat loss from the head can be prevented from wearing woolen balaclava, ski mask, ear muffs and a hat. Gloves should also be worn to keep your fingers and hand from the cold.

When camping in winter, it is also important to take careful consideration on shelter. You should use a well-protected and insulated tent. Three-season tents are fine in mild winter season. However, they may not be strong enough to withstand high winds and snow build-up during heavier winter weather.

When selecting a camp site, choose one that is sheltered from the wind. For example, a clear area surrounded by a lot of trees is a good area. Do not camp near those trees though since snow from the trees might fall on your tent.

A good idea is to hang a tarp to shield your tent. Also, if the weather is particularly windy and the campsite you selected is exposed, dig up a 1 or 2 foot hole where you will set up your tent. This will lessen the wind that blows on your tent. Use rocks, logs and snow stakes to anchor your tent, especially during windy weather.

Food with a lot of carbohydrates and a good supply of water is also essential. This will provide you energy, warmth and hydration when camping in winter. Also select food that is easy to fix such as one-pot meals.

You can also include portable heaters to warm up yourself and heat packs so you can heat up your food.

These precautions should keep you snug and comfortable so you could enjoy your winter camping more enjoyable.

Breakfast camping recipes can be as fast and easy as you like, or you can prepare a large feast for your entire family or group of campers. Depending on the type of cooking equipment you have, you can make a quick breakfast sandwich that doesn’t even require a campfire, or you can prepare a dutch oven egg bake that can feed six or more people.

Eggs are always a morning favorite, and many breakfast camping recipes include eggs as the main ingredient. Egg breakfasts make a great energy-providing meal that will fuel you throughout your day outdoors. Egg breakfast camping recipes are also a great choice for the campground since the number of eggs can easily be altered to feed as many or as few people as you desire. Here are some tips to make your camp cooking breakfast egg dishes as good as they can be.

Add a little water to your eggs when you whip them up, or some milk if you have that available. This will make your eggs extra fluffy.

When scrambling eggs, be sure to stir constantly to avoid burning them. Also, if you are using a dutch oven to bake an egg dish, be careful to monitor the temperature of the dutch oven and not burn the bottom of the eggs. Burnt eggs will ruin the taste of your entire dish.

Be creative and try your favorite ingredients with your egg dishes. Including vegetables such as green peppers or mushrooms will make your egg breakfast healthy and tasty.

To avoid bringing extra cooking equipment with you to the campsite and to skip any timely preparation, whip your eggs before you leave home and store them in a portable container.

Breakfast camping recipes, including egg breakfast dishes, can be found online. Taking a quick peek at some easy breakfast camping recipes before you set out on your camping trip will allow you to have some tasty dishes in mind and ready to prepare on a hungry morning.

Bringing along the right ingredients, you can prepare an adequate breakfast in just minutes. If you would like to avoid taking with you bulky cooking equipment, try breakfast camping recipes that are simple sandwiches but will still provide you with a warm meal.

For example, to prepare a hot breakfast bagel, all you need is some aluminum foil. Open up a bagel and add your favorite deli meat, such as smoked turkey or ham. Top with cheese, close the bagel, and wrap in aluminum foil. Placing the wrapped bagel near the campfire will produce a warm sandwich with melted cheese, perfect for a camping breakfast.

Some people don’t have much use for camping furniture when they go on a camping trip. These campers are quite happy with a tent and a sleeping bag, both of which fit neatly into their backpacks. So long as they have warm, weatherproof clothing and comfortable hiking boots that is all the camping gear that they need.

Other people are only happy going camping if they have a full size trailer with its own bathroom and television. Most campers however, fall somewhere between these two extremes – if you’re going camping with children then you really do need more than just a tent and a sleeping bag.

If you are not too worried about a bit of discomfort and are quite happy to dig a pit for cooking then you will be able to travel lighter than those who want a bit more comfort.

You could probably get by (in addition to tents and sleeping bags of course) with a good lantern, maybe an air bed if you prefer to be off the hard ground, a fold up table and a couple of chairs. This amount of camping furniture would probably suit your needs – so long as you don’t forget plenty of matches and perhaps some fire lighters. You would also need to make sure that the camp site allowed people to light fires for cooking.

Most people who go camping love the outdoors but still want to make their trip as comfortable as possible. This is so much easier today than it might have been twenty years ago. Far more thought and attention is put into the making of camping furniture now and manufacturers recognize that most people want to be as comfortable as possible.

Fold up camp beds mean that you are not at the mercy of every insect on the ground and you are more likely to have a better night’s sleep. A good grill is also essential, but don’t forget to take extra batteries if it is electric. A portable heater would take the chill off at night and an extra screen for your tent would keep away the mosquitoes. You’ll want a table and chairs and possibly a portable shower – not all campsites have showers. Get a good lantern and this should be sufficient camping furniture for most people.
