Ace Camping

There is a massive difference in the number and quality of campsite facilities available. Some campsites have everything you could possibly imagine while others are little more than a flat piece of ground.

If you require a certain level of home comforts then it pays to check the campsite as part of your pre-planning. For example, you may need:

• Electrical hookup points. Check that the system on your motorhome is compatible with the campsites.
• Shower and toilet facilities. These vary enormously from site to site!
• A store that sells food and camping provisions such as cooking gas and maps of the area.
• Somewhere to entertain the kids. The image below shows a small play area but many campsites have swimming pools!
• Restaurant, cooking or BBQ facilities.

Of course many people would be horrified to think of spending time on a commercial campsite, preferring the solitude of the backcountry.
